Who controls your data

The Good Route developer identified on the app's Apple App Store or Google Play listing is responsible for the personal data described in this policy. Privacy questions can be sent to privacy@goodroute.app.

On your device

Saved routes, imported GPX files, recent places, preferences, notes and active navigation state are stored locally by default. You can remove these items in the app or by deleting the app.

Search and routing

Place search and route calculation send the minimum search text or location needed to the map provider. Good Route uses Apple MapKit on iOS. On Android, it uses OpenFreeMap for map tiles, Photon for place search and FOSSGIS OSRM for route calculation. Those providers process requests under their own privacy terms. Apple or Google handles store purchases; Good Route does not receive your payment-card details.

Group rides

Joining a group ride sends your chosen nickname and latest location to the group service. Other riders in that group can see it. Your map colour is assigned automatically. Sharing starts only for an active ride and stops when you leave or finish.

The service keeps one latest position, not location history. After two minutes without an update, that position remains visible but appears faded. Leaving deletes your rider record. Finishing deletes the group ride. Abandoned groups are deleted after seven days without activity.

What we do not do

• Sell location, route or search data
• Use advertising SDKs
• Build behavioural advertising profiles
• Collect GPX content or personal notes for analytics
• Require an account for ordinary navigation

Diagnostics and support

Good Route does not include behavioural analytics or advertising SDKs. If you contact support, we use the information you deliberately provide to answer your request. Do not send a precise route unless support asks and you choose to include it.

Control, retention and deletion

The app provides controls to delete recent searches, saved routes, favourites, imported files and local preferences. Group-ride data is removed when you leave or the organiser finishes the ride; abandoned groups are deleted after seven days. Map providers retain service data according to their own privacy terms. You can request deletion of data controlled by Good Route by emailing privacy@goodroute.app.

Children

Good Route is intended for adults and is not directed to children.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to the use of personal data. UK users may also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
